New Branches Charter Academy has recently been awarded the Future Proud Michigan Educator – Grow Your Own Grant from the Michigan Department of Education. The Grow Your Own Grant Program provides opportunities for districts to increase the number of teachers in areas of shortage by supporting school employees seeking certification in their programs. A reported 1,375 educators will access this fund in total, and we are proud to announce that members of our hardworking staff will be participating!

“Grow Your Own programs provide a pathway for school support staff to benefit from their experiences working with children to become teachers, and to fill crucial staffing needs,” said Dr. Michael Rice, State Superintendent in the State of Michigan. He continues, “We are excited that schools across the state are working with our teacher preparation programs to increase access to this proud and important profession in support of children.”

We are so proud to have our dedicated staff join the ranks of those across the state who are looking to grow in their teaching careers. Our school remains committed to supporting our future educators within New Branches Charter Academy and are excited for staff who will be participating in this program. We look forward to the positive impact initiatives like the Grow your Own grant will have on our students and community!
