The Annual Great Apple Crunch at New Branches Charter Academy

New Branches Charter Academy joined schools, early care centers, and other organizations across Michigan in the annual Great Apple Crunch this year. We celebrated National Farm to School Month and local farmers by crunching into Michigan apples together!

This collective crunch encourages healthy eating and supports farm-to-school and local food initiatives throughout the state, and we couldn’t have been more excited to join in on the fun.

This school-wide event also prompted educators to teach another important lesson on composting. Some of the third grade classes tossed their apples into the woods for a more natural process of recycling organic matter.

The Annual Michigan Crunch was a huge success in our community and we were so thrilled to bring this unique opportunity to our students. We have plenty more in store for our young ones this year so be sure to keep up with us on our social media and website for future events!
