October is Principal Appreciation Month and at (School) we couldn’t be more excited to highlight our hardworking and dedicated administration for all that they do. We take pride in providing both a unique and wholesome education, and that starts with our leadership. We want to take this opportunity to celebrate our leadership and explain what makes them such an important piece of our community.
The first administrator we would like to celebrate this month is our principal Terry Larkin. Terry has been dedicated to the field of education for the past 22 years. She received her degrees from University of North Dakota and Aquinas College and she has been serving as the leader at NBCA for the past nine years. Terry truly lives out our Choice values of being student-focused and expecting greatness. She is always thinking of the next best thing she can do to support and lift up her community!
The next school leader we would like to showcase this month is our assistant Principal Tanner Matten. Tanner has been in education for 7 years, and attended Grand Valley State University where he received his degree in K-8 Education and Science. During his time at school, he became a Building Sub at New Branches. After he graduated he started his career at West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science. Four years later he served as a teacher before moving into his new admin position this year. Tanner has been an exceptional leader thus far and we are so excited to see how he continues to grow into this position and continue to inspire the New Branches community.
Our leaders will always be a fundamental part of our school community, and we can’t thank them enough for their compassion, dedication and hard work. They serve as the backbone of our school, the ones inspiring change, and the mentors who shape our youth’s future. While this month may mark the official celebration, every day is an opportunity to recognize and support these outstanding individuals.
