We at New Branches Charter Academy are proud to participate in our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Program (PBIS). With our focus being on environmental education, the theme for this year’s program is about bees. We encourage students to be kind, respectful, responsible, and safe. We positively reward their good behavior with Honey Bucks that they use to buy books, trinkets, and different toys. We use this encouragement to make students want to build a positive culture at our school, and we couldn’t be prouder.
Principal of New Branches Charter Academy, Terry Larkin said, “Acknowledging positive behavior is shown to increase morale, self-confidence, and has changed the way the students interact. Students are always excited to spend their Honey Bucks, and it’s definitely encouraging them to be kind to each other.”
