This morning our school had the opportunity to celebrate LaShonda Steward, one of our awesome instructional aides. Ms. Steward was awarded $39,000 from Fifth Third Bank through the Fifth Third Momentum sweepstakes!
Maranda, from WOODTV 8, and Scott Stenstrom, Regional Marketing Manager from Fifth Third Bank, visited our school to make the announcement and celebrate her.
Ms. Steward is returning to school to obtain her teaching certification through the alternative teaching route at Davenport University. This is transformational for her as she will be able to pay off some of her student loan debt and obtain a degree that fits her passion to change kids lives.
“This is life-changing for me,” Steward commented. “Now that I’ve been chosen as a winner from the Fifth Third Momentum sweepstakes, things are going to be able to happen quicker than I could imagine. What a relief it is to have some of this debt go away. I’m just shocked and so happy!”
Fifth Third Momentum is an app that rounds up expenses to the nearest dollar and then sends the extra money to pay off student loan debt.
Stewart downloaded the app and got a phone call out of the blue that she won an additional $39,000 toward her loans.
