New Branches Charter Academy Awarded Three MTSS Recognitions

We are thrilled to announce that New Branches Charter Academy has earned multiple recognitions from the Michigan Department of Education for the 2024-2025 school year! We have received the MiMTSS Recognition for the School Data Utilization for Reading and Behavior, along with a Tier 1: Bronze School Behavior Implementation and Impact award, and lastly a Tier 1: Bronze School Reading Implementation and Impact.

These recognitions reflect our commitment to addressing the needs of our students through the MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support) framework. The goal of MTSS is to ensure students have the necessary support to stay on track with their peers. Examples of intervention strategies include:

  • Universal screening for all students at the beginning of the school year.
  • Providing additional, targeted support for students who face challenges.
  • Creating comprehensive plans to address students’ academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs.
  • Adopting a schoolwide approach where teachers, counselors, psychologists, and other specialists collaborate to assess students and plan interventions.
  • Offering professional development to enable staff to deliver effective interventions and track progress.
  • Encouraging family involvement so parents and caregivers understand and can reinforce interventions at home.
  • Regularly monitoring student progress to determine if further intervention is necessary.
  • Implementing evidence-based strategies across each level of support.

At New Branches, we are incredibly proud of the unwavering support from our community. This recognition is a direct reflection of the hard work and commitment of our dedicated staff, faculty, and students. As we move forward, we are excited to continue building on this momentum and ensuring that every student thrives. Stay connected with us on Facebook and visit our website for more updates!
